WHAT YOU NEED:
A Civil Engineering National Diploma. Three (3) years of civil engineering work experience after getting your diploma. Must be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a certified Engineering Technician. Must have a current driver’s license. Must be good with computers and know computer programming.
Must be able to speak and write well and be good at negotiating. Must know how to manage projects. Must be able to design water measurement structures and understand water data. Must know and have used computer engineering programs. Must be able to write technical reports and give technical advice. Must be able to solve problems, analyze information, make decisions, and work with others. Must be creative, good with money, and focused on customer needs. Must be good at planning, organizing, and managing people.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Measure stream flow using special equipment and standard methods. Survey water measurement structures using levels. Survey areas that flood. Adjust flow measurement stations. Check and oversee the upkeep of flow measurement stations. Keep electronic data recorders working. Supervise workers. Correct and process water data. Manage the water data bank. Buy maintenance supplies and equipment. Travel often as needed.
Collect water-related information in the assigned region. Contact property owners to get permission to enter their land. Be ready to work outside of the office for long stretches.

WHAT YOU NEED: A National Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Three (3) years of Electrical engineering experience after getting your diploma. Must be registered as a Professional Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Must have a current, valid driver’s license. Must know about legal rules, technical design and analysis, writing reports, giving technical advice, research, and running projects. Must be able to manage change and people. Must be good at writing and speaking, using computers, making decisions, solving problems, and planning. Must focus on customers and respond to their needs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Study and create rules for how water systems work. Create models or systems to help plan and manage water resources. Give expert advice on water resource planning and operations. Create business plans and manage staff.

ARTISAN FOREMAN GRADE A (PAINTING)

PAY: R362 130 annually
LOCATION: Head Office, Cape Town (Metro West, Zwaanswyk, Retreat)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a Trade Test Certificate in a similar field. Experience: Five years of experience as an Artisan after getting certified in the relevant trade. Job needs: Valid driver’s license. Skills: Good at communication. Solid understanding of painting and other building trades like carpentry, plumbing, and building.
Good understanding of the SANS 10 – 400 Building Regulation. Familiarity with the Machinery and Occupational Health and Safety Act. Must have lots of experience installing ceilings, drywall, skimming walls and ceilings, and painting.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and repair hospital buildings by painting, glazing, skimming, installing drywall and ceilings, and spray-painting equipment. Fix and service infrastructure equipment at facilities, following standards and rules. Give support to the plumbing, carpentry, and building departments when needed. Check the quality of all maintenance, painting, and repair work, keep records of all work, and manage job cards. Create and submit reports as needed and help with the workshop’s operational plan.
Help the main craftsman by buying and managing upkeep supplies and tools.

LOCATION: Hartbeespoort Area Office
QUALIFICATIONS: A recognized Mechanical Trade Test pass. Five (5) years of work experience as an Artisan after getting certified. A current, valid driver’s license must be presented. Must have good planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to write technical reports.
Must understand the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Must be able to work alone and with others. Must be computer literate. Must have good communication skills and be able to work long hours and handle stress. Must be skilled at technical analysis and fixing problems. Must be willing to travel. Applicants may have to pass a practical and written test.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep up the large water systems (dams, tanks, pumping stations, and pipes) and equipment. Keep up the Yellow Fleet vehicles and trucks. Check equipment for problems and fix them correctly. Service equipment on time. Make sure work is high quality. Follow all safety rules and laws. Carry out planned maintenance and update records. Write and turn in reports as needed. Manage and train workers. Keep learning to stay updated on new technology and ways of doing things.
