SALARY: R1,201,536 yearly (salary package)
LOCATION: Gauteng Regional Office
REQUIREMENTS CONSIDERED:
-Engineering degree (B Eng/BSc (Eng) or relevant qualification ) ; compulsory registration with ECSA as a professional engineer .
-Comprehensive understanding of all mechanical engineering facets of the building and construction sector.
-Knowledge of finance management law ; workplace health and safety law ; supply chain management ; contract management .
- Capability to perform significant reviews / examinations and provide technical advice; ability to uphold the integrity of confidential information; financial management; good communication skills; proficient technical report writing.
-Good with math ; able to use a computer.
-Planning and creative ; ability to manage relationships.
-Program management and ability to manage projects; personal and diplomatic skills; good decision- making; strong motivational skills; ability to resolve connflicts ; good negotiating skills; ability to work under pressure and in stressful conditions; effective communication ability at all levels; friendly ; honest ; assertive ; hardworking ; able to work without assistance; driver ‘s license; readiness to travel ; willingness to be flexible with working schedules as requested by the office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Ensure effectiveness of engineering design and analysis; perform final review and acceptance or evaluation of new engineering designs considering design principles and concepts; collaborate on design efforts and unify efforts across disciplines to guarantee seamless integration with existing technology; pioneer new engineering skills, techniques, and administrative methods.
-Ensure engineering operational effectiveness; oversee the execution of maintenance approaches through the provision of suitable structures, systems, and resources; establish engineering maintenance standards and service standards aligned with organizational objectives and goals to guarantee maximum operational availability; assess maintenance effectiveness in alignment with organizational goals to guide or direct engineering services in fulfilling organizational objectives .
-Manage major project risks in line with effective risk management principles and organizational requirements; provide technical consulting services for addressing engineering-related issues to minimize potential engineering risks.
Oversee and implement knowledge-sharing programs, such as short-term projects.
-Tasks and secondments within and between operations, in support of personal growth plans, functional requirements , and investment returns ; regularly monitor the exchange and protection of data between procedures and individuals to ensure efficiency .
-Management of knowledge in alignment with departmental goals. Financial management ; oversee the operational maintenance and capital initiatives.
-Portfolios for the operation to guarantee efficient allocation of resources according to organizational requirements and objectives; assist in compiling innovation suggestions to ensure authenticity and adherence to organizational principles; workforce management; manage the growth, inspiration, and utilization of human resources in the field to ensure proficiency.
-Foundation of knowledge for the ongoing success of engineering services based on organizational demands and specifications; manage the key performance areas of trainees through establishing and supervising performance criteria and enforcing measures to rectify performance according to departmental goals. Maintain quality supervision on the projects of consultants and contractors during the implementation stage.
-Assist project managers in resolving technical conflicts arising at various stages of initiatives. Examine and verify final consultants’ payments. Take accountability for the development, execution, evaluation, and regular revision of standardized mechanical engineering progress handbooks for the department .
-Perform detailed design, documentation, and execution of small in-house projects.
-Connect with client departments and participants on technical issues.
-Offer mentorship and oversight to candidate engineers, technologists, technicians, etc.
-Comply with Engineering Services needs to establish consistent best practices throughout the department.
