RCL FOODS needs two Fitter & Turner Apprentices for our Baking area.
This job is in Krugersdorp, and you’ll report to the Maintenance Foreman. The job’s main goal is to make sure factory maintenance is done well and correctly to keep downtime as low as possible.
You’ll receive training at the Industrial Training Centre (ITC) for about 20 weeks. You’ll also get experience and training in various parts of the factory during both busy and slow periods, for about 29 weeks.
At the end of each training year, you’ll take a Mini Trade Test to decide if you can continue in the program.
Passing a Final Trade Test will give you a Nationally Recognized Certification.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 N3 as a minimum. N4 to N6 would be preferred.
- N3 as a minimum. N4 to N6 would be preferred.
Required N3 subjects:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Industrial electronics
- Electrical trade theory
You must show that you have finished a formal training program.
Job Skills Include fixing, mending, and keeping in good shape the parts of all machines you are in charge of.
Additional:
Valid EB / Code 8 Drivers License
- Computer literacy-MS Office Suite
- Be prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, callouts, and work overtime
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- In order to be considered for selection, candidates need to be in possession of a Grade 12 with at least a N2 qualification or NCV level 3, N3 and above qualification will be an advantage.
- To conduct equipment inspections to identify and proactively address deviations to prevent breakdowns and quality issues.
- To adhere to the maintenance execution process including ensuring that work orders are complete and correct.
- Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following checklists
- You must follow the maintenance process, making sure work orders are finished correctly.
